This workshop is based on the Japanese concept of ‘SAORI’, developed by Misao Jo. Unlike conventional weaving, there are no set rules or patterns to follow. The entire process of assembling the threads on the loom is carried out beforehand, so anyone can get started immediately without any prior knowledge of weaving. The emphasis is on creativity and exploration, playing with various colours and materials. These workshops are an ideal introduction to weaving.
1/2 day (3 hours) with a tea/coffee break.
All materials are included in the price of the workshop. Pedal looms are prepared with a choice of coloured warps and weft yarns are provided.
The workshop is suitable for everyone. Children must be tall enough to use the treadle looms.
