Weave Structure: Rosengang or My Rose Path Cushion Cover

Date:

17-18 May

Price:

CHF 270.–

The Rose Path weaving technique allowed for the use of all leftover wool, whether from knitting or weaving, on a linen or cotton warp. The "Rosengang" threading offers endless possibilities for creating small "rose" patterns and experimenting with various color and pattern combinations.

The colorful and decorative fabrics created in this way were used, depending on the quality of the materials, to warm the walls of rural homes or to cover beds and floors.

This two-day workshop will allow you to weave a length sufficient for one (or two) cushions, approximately 60 cm wide (we will use lever looms). The workshop will be open to all participants for the 5 days following the workshop to complete the work.

What our students have achieved

Nicole Genoud

Workshop Director

After the meeting of an elderly lady weaver, I started weaving as a teenager, as a self-taught enthusiast. After a long break, I stumbled across an ARM loom at a flea market! I immediately started weaving again with the desire to learn a bit more; so I started training as a weaver at Filambule with Danièle Mussard. I've finished the course and feel I've got everything to discover! Now I'll be able to take the time to learn more, experiment and explore this infinite world of yarns, materials and colours... with enthusiasm!
