Introductory Workshop – Bojagi, Traditional Korean Textile Art
Date:
9 sept.
Price:
CHF 800.–
Come discover Bojagi, an ancient Korean sewing and textile assembly technique historically used to wrap, protect, or present objects. At the crossroads of art and craft, Bojagi today captivates with the elegance of its geometric shapes and the richness of its symbolism. Placed in front of a window, the play of light through the transparency of the linen voile used makes the Bojagi almost come alive.
Participants will learn to hand-assemble fabrics following traditional principles and create their first textile piece.
Program:
Introduction to the history and uses of Bojagi
Exploration of the fabrics, colors, and symbols used
Introduction to specific sewing stitches
Creating a textile square in the style of a traditional Bojagi
