Knitting workshop to get started with making socks using circular needles.
The goal of this workshop is for each participant to knit a simple and functional pair of socks using the Toe-Up method (knitting the sock from the toe to the ankle) with the Magic Loop technique (using circular needles with a 60 or 80 cm cable).
The proposed pattern will be simple, timeless, and versatile, featuring a 1:3 ribbed pattern along the top of the foot and the ankle. This introduction to hand-knitted socks will take place over three sessions, covering the three key stages of sock construction: Toe, Heel, and Ankle (with tubular bind-off).
A two-week interval between each session will allow participants to progress at their own pace.
Each participant will be asked to bring their own materials and to have knitted a circular swatch of at least 10 x 10 cm in advance, using sock yarn of their choice.
