The purpose of this initiation is to pass down the ancestral knowledge of the art of weaving. You will learn how to set up a warp and weave fabric on a lever loom. Materials and a learning guide are provided.
This 2-day course is an introduction to the art of weaving. You'll learn the whole process from design to a finished weave. Your introduction to the art of weaving: you'll learn the specialised vocabulary, how to set up a warp on a hand loom, how to thread and weave a sample that will serve as a reference for the rest of the course. You will be able to experiment with different patterns, materials and colours on the sample that you will take with you at the end of the course.
Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM with a midday break (bring a picnic for both days).
Materials and a learning guide are provided.
